First Aid/CPR Certification


Offered Courses:

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen.


CPR/AED Level “A”, “C”, “HCP”

All include training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Courses offer training suitable for workplace or general interest. Includes the latest CPR guidelines.

Duration:
Level “A” - 4 hours
Level “C”- 5 hours
Level “HCP” - 6 hours
Completion: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, 75% Minimum passing grade on written exam
Certification: 3 year certification in CPR A/C/HCP and AED

Recertification:
Level “A” - not available
Level “C” - 4 hours
Level “HCP” - 5 hours

Course Content
Level “A”: The first aider’s role; Check, Call, Care; HAINES recovery position; Choking adult; assisting with medication; agina and heart attack; stroke; CPR-adult; deadly bleeding.
Level “C”: All of Level A content plus child and baby, CPR child and baby
Level “HCP”: All of Level C content plus Jaw thrust; pulse check; rescue breathing adult, child and baby; BVM adult, child and baby; two-rescuer CPR adult, child and baby

Take home content: CPR/AED manual, wallet certification and optional wall certificate

Cost: $60.00 / person ($70/person for HCP certification)

Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED Level “A”, “C”, “HCP”


Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.
**Level required by the OCA to satisfy and uphold registration for chiropractors in Ontario.

Duration: 8-9 hour course

Completion: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, 75% Minimum passing grade on written exam

Certification: 3 year certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR A/C/HCP and AED

Recertification: 5-6 hours includes CPR level A, C or HCP

Course Content: Preparing to respond, the EMS system, airway emergencies, breathing and circulation emergencies, first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest, wound care

Take home content: First aid and CPR manual, wallet certification and optional wall certificate

Cost: $90.00 / person ($105/person for HCP certification)

Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level “A”, “C”, “HCP”


Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.


Duration: 14-16 hour course

Completion: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, 75% Minimum passing grade on written exam

Certification: 3 year certification in Standard First Aid, CPR A/C/HCP and AED

Recertification: 6-9 hours includes CPR level A, C or HCP

Course Content: Preparing to respond; the EMS system; airway emergencies; breathing and circulation emergencies; first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest; wound care; head and spine injuries; bone, muscle and joint injuries; sudden medical emergencies; environmental emergencies; poisons

Take home content: First aid and CPR manual, wallet certification and optional wall certificate

Cost: $140.00 / person ($155/person for HCP certification)
