REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY
WHAT IS MASSAGE THERAPY?
Registered Massage Therapy is a hands-on treatment that manipulates the soft tissues of your body (specifically your muscles), to relieve tension, stress, and pain while improving mobility and the physical functions of your body.
WHEN IS IT RECOMMENDED?
At Movement Health, Registered Massage Therapy is recommended if your health and/or mobility are being compromised by an issue related to the soft tissues of the body. Whether you’re looking for relief from muscle tension and/or tightness or simply want to boost your recovery time and/or prevent injury, we work with you to create a Massage Therapy care plan that will help you reach and/or maintain your health and mobility goals.
Your care plan can include follow-up visits as well as referrals to other healthcare professionals. Whenever possible, the Movement Health team will work with your other healthcare providers to enhance the effectiveness of treatments that you’re receiving outside of our clinic.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During a treatment, one of our qualified and experienced Registered Massage Therapists will manually massage and/or stretch your body using their hands and other props specifically designed for this purpose. Your massage therapist will check in regularly with you to ensure that they are using the right amount of pressure that is effective without being too uncomfortable.
